The Global Health Research Network (GHRN) was founded with a vision to narrow global health disparities and foster collaboration among researchers from diverse fields to deliver practical solutions to pressing challenges. Today, we are proud to inaugurate Healthcare Research and Practice (HRP), a journal that embodies these core values and mission.
HRP aims to establish a new research ecosystem that integrates data-driven innovation with context-specific practice. Our focus is not on theory alone, but on practice-oriented, evidence-based research that can be directly applied in real-world settings to address global health problems. In particular, HRP highlights critical domains such as artificial intelligence (AI) for disease prediction, precision medicine for personalized treatment strategies, integrated health management models, digital health innovations, and approaches to reducing health inequities.
In this inaugural issue, we spotlight the following themes:
(1) AI-based systems for early cancer diagnosis and public health prediction
(2) Emerging insights into AI-driven medical diagnostics
(3) Novel approaches to medical education through AI
(4) Natural product research: TNF-α antagonism by fermented red ginseng and restoration of skin-barrier gene expression
(5) Treatment strategies and in silico studies for patients with intractable diseases
(6) Evidence-based healthcare practices and integration of global nutrition data
We place particular emphasis on research that reflects population diversity, socioeconomic disparities, and barriers to healthcare access, aligning with GHRN’s guiding principle of patient-diversity–based precision health.
Moreover, HRP aspires to serve not only the academic community but also as a translational platform that brings together voices from clinical practice, policy-making, and technology development. By bridging data with lived experience, and science with implementation, the journal seeks to provide tangible insights and pathways toward change.
The HRP Editorial Board envisions this journal as a starting point for meaningful transformation—where technology and human insight converge, and where collective wisdom drives us toward a healthier future. This inaugural issue is just the beginning; together, we will continue to shape a more equitable and sustainable path forward.
